The Ask:
This project was for a computers for fashion class which I took in the Spring of 2020. At the beginning of that year I was still attending school in Richmond, but was in for a rude awakening come Spring Break.
The project challenged us to take an image and manipulate it to recreate it to look entirely different from before using Adobe Photoshop. This course was the first time I’d ever used PhotoShop and it proved more difficult than I thought.
The Process:
As we all know, in Spring 2020 the Covid-19 pandemic began and caused a halt to all school and work.
After being sent home for the rest of the semester, I completed all my class from my bedroom. This project seemed simple, but I struggled a lot with the process. I took a iconic image of Audrey Hepburn and used different layers of gradients and created entirely different scenes.
The Results:
The end results were close to what I had imagined but the details could have been fine tuned. With more practice and time I definitely think I could have made my vision come to life.
Learning Adobe Photoshop was a lot of fun and has given me a better eye for creative design. I received a B for the project, which I thought deserved because my skills can be improved upon. Looking at it now there is a lot I’d do differently.
